And then there are other bits of Python web stack, like Fabric, South, WTForms and such all used to varying degrees.

Projects

The first thing that comes after “let's make something” is “let's put it on bitbucket”.

Also, most of my ExtJS experience came from this project.

Kudos

Open Hub is a free public directory of open source software and people. It can do pretty graphs with highlights and code analysis (including evaluations like “Very few source code comments”). It's probably the only site that does it, and does it well.

And you can earn badges, like this: Open Hub profile for Anton Shestakov
Unlike normal ones that say “Best shooter” or “Fastest swimmer”, this just says “Figure eight”. Weird.

AUR

PKGBUILDs (old)

One way of supporting software you like is to invite people to use it. PKGBUILDs are Arch's way of doing it. And Arch User Repository is the place people go to get some new exciting app.

Translations (old)

Improving localization is essentially improving user interface. When I was just starting as a translator, I used Rosetta, which is Launchpad's translation service. And it still tracks my translations, diligently.
